At Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), our patients' health and safety are our top priorities. At our clinic we have thorough safety measures in place to protect you, your caregivers and our staff. We also understand that sometimes it is not possible to come to an in-person visit. That is why we are pleased to offer telehealth visits during the COVID-19 pandemic when medically appropriate.
Your Seattle Cancer Care Alliance team is built around you and your needs, devoted to giving you the best possible care and support, before, during, and after your treatment. Our telehealth multidisciplinary visits ensure you and your team of specialists are able to work together to provide complete care remotely.
The Thoracic Oncology Multispecialty Clinic offers individualized innovative treatment plans for patients with lung cancer, mesothelioma, and other cancers of the chest. From diagnostic testing to treatment to supportive care services, our experts are with you from early in your diagnosis to long term survival. The Thoracic Oncology Multispecialty Clinic provides a collaborative approach to treatment planning focusing on you as the patient as the center of the individualized approach to your care. We have experts dedicated to cancers of the chest including:
- Thoracic surgeons – comprehensive approach including video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) and robotic-assisted technologies to offer minimally invasive procedures where appropriate
- Radiation oncologists – deliver precise doses of radiation to the tumor of the chest minimizing exposure to the surrounding healthy tissue
- Medical oncologists – use innovative systemic treatment approaches including targeted therapies and treatments that can activate a patient’s own immune systems to attack their cancer.
Based on the stage of your disease, you may benefit from seeing one or more specialist(s). Your medical records will be reviewed to determine which providers you should meet with as part of your initial visit.
The multispecialty visit as a telehealth visit is an opportunity to see one or more specialists for your initial consultation without you having to travel to our clinic. You will be able to see and speak with your provider(s) using your computer or tablet/smart phone.
We are committed to easing any anxiety around a telehealth visit if this is new for you. Prior to your appointment we will provide detailed instructions to help you familiarize yourself before you meet with your care team.
Telehealth services can be offered to patients residing in Washington, Idaho and Alaska and for those whose diagnoses have been reviewed as medically appropriate for telehealth.
