Patients share their stories

Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is privileged to care for those in our community and beyond. Each patient has a story worth hearing. We believe sharing it with others who may be facing the challenges of a cancer diagnosis is powerful. Here are some of the inspiring stories of courage, struggles, hope and perseverance. 

 

Lydia Miner

Diagnosed with HPV-positive throat cancer, Lydia was treated with minimally invasive robotic surgery. After treatment and recovery, she continues to sing.

Alexes Harris

Alexes Harris was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome and received a cord blood transplant at SCCA. She is an advocate for a more ethnically diverse bone marrow donor registry.

Steve Fleischmann

Steve was first diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2003 and was treated at SCCA. With a third cancer recurrence, Steve continues to be treated at SCCA.

Ali Spain

Ali was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer at the age of 47. She participated in a clinical trial at SCCA as part of her treatment plan.

Diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome, Steve underwent a stem cell transplant at SCCA. He is now a patient at the SCCA Long Term Follow Up Program.
