Nina Tan, MD
We have a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach, with patients’ concerns addressed from many different angles. We also do a lot of preparation just for a single patient visit. So much happens behind the scenes before a patient even arrives for an appointment: the team tries to get medical records organized and imaging reviewed if possible, and so forth.
I hope patients feel they can make their own decisions and that they have the tools and knowledge they need to do so. I also want them to feel supported. The good decision is the one they make. This is especially important in breast cancer because it is so multifaceted and there are so many directions care and treatment can go.
Provider background
I am an internal medicine physician who sees patients at the Breast Health Clinic at South Lake Union.
I take care of patients who are at high risk of breast cancer or who have completed their breast cancer treatment and are moving back to regular primary care.

Research
Clinical trials
We make promising new treatments available to you through studies called clinical trials led by Fred Hutch doctors. Many of these trials at Fred Hutch have led to FDA-approved treatments and have improved standards of care globally. Together, you and your doctor can decide if a study is right for you.
Publications
Many of our Fred Hutch doctors conduct ongoing research to improve standards of patient care. Their work is evaluated by other doctors and selected for publication to the United States National Library of Medicine, the largest medical library in the world. See scientific papers this Fred Hutch provider has written.
