U-Link for referring physicians

SCCA relationships with referring physicians do not end at the point of referral. It is our intention that most patients return to the referring physician's care after consultation. We at the SCCA are committed to maintaining communications with referring physicians and will do everything we can to encourage ongoing connection to the patient's care.

To ensure that referring providers and their support staff are able to stay connected to their patients, SCCA offers access to their medical records through U-Link. U-Link is a secure password-protected internet EMR portal that provides access to the records of patients receiving care at UW Medical Center (UWMC), Harborview Medical Center (HMC), SCCA, or one of the UW Neighborhood Clinics. U-Link allows you to follow your patient's progress by viewing the same EMR that UW physicians and medical staff use, normally within 48 hours.

Record access includes:

  • Lab results
  • Transcripts of outpatient and inpatient reports
  • Operative and procedure notes
  • Medication lists
  • Radiology reports and images

This convenient, free service is designed specifically for referring physicians and other licensed healthcare practitioners who are providing direct patient care. Other clinicians and staff who work for a practice may also enroll as part of a U-Link Group Account as long as there is at least one enrollee who is a licensed practitioner with a registered NPI.

Learn more about U-Link and download enrollment forms at the UW Medicine website. You can also contact the UW Medical Center Physician Liaison Program by email at ulink@uw.edu or call (206) 598-5693 for more information.
