The Women’s Center at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) is dedicated to caring for women and is home to our:
- Breast Health Clinic
- NOW Clinic
- Breast Cancer Specialty Center
- Breast and Ovarian Cancer Prevention Program
- Women’s Wellness Clinic
When SCCA decided to open the Women’s Center, we went straight to the experts—women like you, SCCA patients and former patients—for advice.
They told us what the ideal women’s center would be like, including privacy, comfort, colors, traffic patterns, floor plans, windows in the exam rooms, and the type and arrangement of furniture in the waiting areas.
Input from our patient advisory group helped create the Women’s Center, a place that welcomes and supports you through all phases of cancer treatment, from diagnosis to follow-up.
At SCCA, you will see doctors who are leaders in breast and gynecologic cancer care. Working as a team, your healthcare providers will talk to each other and to you to help you create the best treatment plan—one that takes into account the type of cancer you have and your values, beliefs, and lifestyle.
The Women’s Center is on the third floor of the SCCA building. It’s a 12,000-square-foot, light-filled clinic with a view of Lake Union and spacious, well-planned examination rooms so that you won’t feel crowded if you decide to bring friends or family members with you.
There are three mammography rooms, three ultrasound rooms, and one room for stereotactic biopsy, all furnished with the latest imaging equipment. Each mammography room has its own private changing room, and you will get the results of your mammogram immediately and in private.
In addition, the Women’s Center has a “green rating,” meaning most of the materials used in the construction were either recycled or environmentally friendly, and it was designed to conserve both power and water. The art that decorates the Women’s Center includes a drawing by Dale Chihuly, the famous Northwest glass artist.
