SEATTLE – (July 7, 2017) – Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) announced today that 11 of its nurse researcher leaders will present at the International Conference on Cancer Nursing (ICCN) July 9-12, 2017 in Anaheim, CA. This is the largest number of nurse researchers invited to present at ICCN in SCCA’s history. SEATTLE – (June 26, 2017) – Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) announced today that the American Academy of Nursing has selected Kathleen Shannon Dorcy, PhD, RN, Director, Clinical Nursing Research, Education and Practice, as an Academy Fellow. This is the first time in SCCA’s history that a nurse has achieved Fellow – American Academy of Nursing status, or FAAN.
SEATTLE (May 23, 2017) – Seattle Cancer Care Alliance reported today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted accelerated approval for a patient treatment for a specific type of lung cancer that combines immunotherapy with chemotherapy.
SEATTLE – (May 8, 2017) – Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Immediate Past Chairman and member of the Board of Directors Carl Behnke received a “Laureate” award from the Washington state chapter of Junior Achievement. The award was presented to Behnke at the organization’s Puget Sound Business Hall of Fame event, held at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront on May 4.
SEATTLE – (May 4, 2017) – Today’s issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Oncology features a viewpoint co-authored by Dr. Christoph Lee, a Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) radiologist who conducts breast cancer outcomes research. The JAMA article addresses whether machine learning (or coding) can help reduce false positives from mammography screening.
