Directions to Seattle Children's via freeways

Seattle Children's is located in the Laurelhurst neighborhood in northeast Seattle, east of the University of Washington.

From the North

  • Take I-5 south to exit #169, NE 45th St.
  • Turn left (east) at the stoplight onto NE 45th St.
  • Go 1.5 miles, passing the University of Washington.
  • At the bottom of the hill, turn left at the stoplight and continue on NE 45th St.
  • NE 45th St. will bear left, becoming Sand Point Way NE.
  • Turn right at the stoplight onto Children's campus.

From the South

  • Take I-5 north to exit #169, NE 45th St.
  • Stay in the right lane.
  • Turn right (east) at the stoplight onto NE 45th St.
  • Go 1.5 miles, passing the University of Washington.
  • At the bottom of the hill, turn left at the stoplight and continue on NE 45th St.
  • NE 45th St. will bear left, becoming Sand Point Way NE.
  • Turn right at the stoplight onto Children's campus.

From the Eastside (Highway 520)

  • Take 520 west over the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge.
  • There is a toll to cross the 520 bridge. You will not have to pay right away, and there are no tollbooths. The owner of the vehicle will get a bill in the mail. Tolls could be up to $5 one way, depending on the time of day. Visit WSDOT Good to Go! for more information on tolling.
  • Take the Montlake Boulevard E. exit (north) for 1.1 miles.
  • Bear right onto NE 45th St., which becomes Sand Point Way NE.
  • Turn right at the stoplight onto Children's campus.

From the Eastside (I-90)

  • Take I-90 across the Mercer Island Floating Bridge to I-5 north.
  • Take I-5 north to exit #169, NE 45th St.
  • Stay in the right lane.
  • Turn right (east) at the stoplight onto NE 45th St.
  • Go 1.5 miles, passing the University of Washington.
  • At the bottom of the hill, turn left at the stoplight and continue on NE 45th St.
  • NE 45th St. will bear left, becoming Sand Point Way NE.
  • Turn right at the stoplight onto Children's campus.
Directions from South Lake Union Clinic
  • Travel north on Fairview Ave N or Eastlake Ave E (street becomes Eastlake Ave E).
  • Cross the University Bridge.
  • Continue north, veering slightly right onto 11th Ave NE.
  • Turn right onto NE 45th St.
  • At the bottom of the hill, turn left at the stoplight and continue on NE 45th St.
  • NE 45th St. will bear left, becoming Sand Point Way NE.
  • Turn right at the stoplight onto Children's campus.
Parking

Ocean Parking

Free valet parking is available for patients and families in Ocean 8 parking from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Drop your vehicle off at the Ocean 8 driveway and receive a valet ticket from Seattle Children's staff. When leaving, give your ticket to the staff at the valet booth on Ocean 8 and we will bring your car to you.

Emergency Department

Free valet parking is available to Emergency Department patients and families as needed. Drop off your vehicle at the main driveway in front of the Emergency Department (ED) entrance. See the ED waiting room staff for assistance. When ED valet parking is not available, there is additional parking in Lot 4 across Penny Drive from the ED entrance.

Garage Parking

Seattle Children's provides free parking for visitors, patients, and families. Most lots are open 24 hours a day. They are monitored by closed-circuit television. For families and visitors going to patient rooms or the Wright Auditorium, please use Lot 1, located across from the River entrance on Penny Drive. Follow signs to the River entrance.

Parking for People with Disabilities

Parking for people with disabilities is available in Ocean parking and Emergency Department parking and on Helen Lane in front of the River entrance.
