Benefits
Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Benefits at a Glance
The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance provides a comprehensive benefits package designed to support an employee’s work and personal life. Employees are eligible for benefits if they are an active, ongoing employee regularly scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week.
Medical and Vision Insurance
SCCA employees may choose between a preferred provider plan (Premera Blue Cross) and a point of service plan (Alliant Plus) for them and their families.
Dental Insurance
SCCA employees may choose between two plans offered through Washington Dental Service. The WDS network includes approximately ninety percent of the dentists in Washington State.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Employees can save money on eligible health and dependent care expenses through the flexible spending accounts because deductions for these accounts are made on a pre-tax basis.
Life/Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance
SCCA provides life and AD&D insurance equal to two times annual pay. Additional life insurance can be purchased through the voluntary supplemental plan for employees and dependents.
Disability Insurance
The SCCA pays for short- and long-term disability coverage for employees. This insurance pays a benefit equal to 60% of base pay after a 30-day waiting period.
403(b) Retirement Savings Plan
SCCA makes a 5% contribution to the 403(b) plan after one year and 1000 hours of service. No employee contribution is required to receive this benefit. Employees can participate in the plan immediately, with investment options thru TIAA-CREF, Fidelity Investments and ING.
Vacations
Employees accrue 12 days of vacation during the first year of employment. Subsequently, they accrue an additional day per year until they reach the maximum accrual of 22 days per year. Accrual rate is pro-rated for part-time employees.
Salary Continuance (Sick Leave)
Employees are eligible for salary continuance after 30 days of employment. Under this plan, regular pay will continue for up to 176 hours per year (pro-rated for part-time) for time off due to illness or injury.
Holidays and Personal Days
Twelve paid holidays, including 8 scheduled and 4 personal days are provided to employees each year.
Transportation
SCCA provides a subsidized annual transportation pass for use on Metro, Community Transit, Pierce Transit, Sound Transit and Metro vanpools. Reduced parking costs for vanpools and carpools are available.
Staff Events Program
The SCCA recognizes that work in the health care industry can sometimes be demanding and stressful, especially in a field that requires employees to care for those facing cancer. For this reason, this program was created to provide an outlet for staff to relax, have fun, enjoy quality time with family and friends, and receive items and services for free or at a discounted rate.
