Patient Care Philosophy:
My current focus is on the treatment of tobacco dependence, in terms of both using and improving effectiveness of evidence-based behavioral and pharmaceutical interventions. Helping people quit smoking at any time in their lives will enable them to live longer, healthier, and happier lives.

Dr. Halperin developed and currently directs the Tobacco Studies Program (TSP) at the University of Washington, now in its seventh year. This program was developed with funding from ASPH-Legacy Foundation STEP-UP (Scholarship, Teaching, and Education Program for Tobacco Use Prevention) Initiative.
