Mobile Mammography
Women age 40 and over should have routine screening mammograms for breast cancer. The Women’s Center at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance knows it can be difficult to find the time to schedule an office exam. That’s why we offer Mobile Mammography Service. Our mammography van provides an alternative way to obtain a mammogram by using health clinics, stores, and other locations for on-site mammograms. To find out whether the SCCA Mobile Mammography Van will be in your area, please call (206) 288-7800, or click here to view this month's schedule (PDF). Making early detection easier There are many reasons why women may not get regular mammograms: money, hassle, difficulty taking time away from work or family. SCCA's state-of-the-art mobile digital mammography van, donated by Safeway, will provide a convenient option and aims to increase early cancer detection.

The value of screening The increase in the use of mammography over time has made early detection of breast cancer more common and has helped reduce mortality from this disease. Despite the great success of mammography in detecting breast cancer early, recent articles in the popular press now suggest a decline in the rates of mammography use, which may lead to a future increase in mortality from breast cancer, which is something no one would like to see. If you are 40 years old or older and haven’t had a mammogram lately, schedule your screening today by calling 206-288-7800. The SCCA advantage These digital mammograms combined with specialized radiologists detect more cancers than conventional film exams interpreted by general radiologists. You will have the peace of mind knowing that you received the most comprehensive and highest quality screening available. Should you need additional tests or treatment, SCCA’s Women’s Center provides the full spectrum of breast care diagnosis and treatment. Our physicians are breast specialists on the faculty of the University of Washington School of Medicine and members of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. That means you are being cared for by experts considered among the best in their field. Other services After your mammogram, if additional tests are needed, you will receive them at the SCCA Breast Imaging Clinic, which is conveniently located at the SCCA Clinic on South Lake Union.
