Survivorship Program

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center's Survivorship Program provides clinical care, patient education, and research opportunities to patients who are survivers of cancer, are no longer in active cancer treatment, or are in long-term therapy to prevent recurrence of cancer. Services are provided through the Hutchinson Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) and supported by the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

As part of the Survivorship Program patients are given a thorough screening and health evaluation by our health-care team — professionals who have dedicated themselves to learning about and dealing with survivorship issues. Patients are provided with a Survivorship Care Plan that lists therapy and medical information related to the patient's diagnosis and any possible long-term problems. This Survivorship Care Plan includes recommendations for patients and their health-care providers, ensuring that patients stay as healthy and informed as possible. To ensure the most comprehensive care to cancer survivors, copies of the Survivorship Care Plan are provided to the cancer survivor's medical oncologist and primary care physician.

The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center Survivorship Program is a member of the LIVESTRONG™ Survivorship Center of Excellence Network.

Most insurance carriers will cover this type of evaluation as a part of cancer treatment. If you have additional questions or concerns about this please call Patient Financial Services at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance at (206) 288-1113.
