About the Survivorship Program at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center

In January 2006 the Lance Armstrong Foundation awarded 1.7 million dollars to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center for a Survivorship Program that is part of the LiveSTRONG™ Survivorship Center of Excellence Network.

Working together, this program provides essential direct survivorship services to cancer survivors. In the words of Lance Armstrong, "Before cancer I just lived. Now I Live Strong."

This Survivorship Center provides support for the emotional, physical and practical issues that people recovering from cancer face. This progressive, comprehensive support for survivorship issues helps people battling cancer live life on their own terms.

Lance Armstrong, cancer survivor and seven-time Tour de France cycling champion announced the grant while visiting Seattle in December of 2005.
