Smoke-Free Life Program

Want to Quit Smoking?

If you are a smoker, SCCA now offers the Smoke-Free Life Program to help you quit.

There are so many good reasons to quit and the health benefits you get will begin immediately. You will be able to breathe better, your risk for heart, lung, and other diseases will be reduced, and your general health will improve.

“Tobacco is the most addictive substance on the planet and cigarettes are the most highly engineered consumer product on the market,” says Dr. Abigail Halperin, director of the University of Washington Tobacco Studies Program and physician at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Smoke-Free Life Program. “Cigarettes are designed for maximum addiction. They are also the only consumer product that, when used as directed, kills half of its users.”

Living smoke-free
To be successful in quitting smoking, experts recommend developing a plan and following it, including medication for withdrawal symptoms. SCCA’s Smoke-Free Life Program can help you create a plan that will work for you. Quitting smoking is like riding a bicycle. It takes several tries and at each attempt you learn a
little more about how to do it until eventually you will succeed.
