Christa Fournier has always wanted to work in healthcare. "I love science, medicine, and caring for people," she says. "It is great to feel like I am able to make a difference in the lives of my patients and their families."
When patients are going through cancer treatment, they need people who care and who are willing to help in whatever way possible, according to Christa. "I strive to be that person who makes a difference to our patients. If I am able to make them smile, brighten their day, or be that extra support that they need, then I feel my day has been successful."
In her lifetime, Christa hopes that more effective drugs and treatment protocols become available to help sarcoma treatments be more successful.
Outside of work, Christa doesn't have a lot of spare time while working on her master’s degree to become a nurse practitioner. "When I do have time for other activities, I enjoy reading, cooking, biking, and playing with my two dogs," she says.
