The NCCN Oncology Research Program (ORP) has qualified three SCCA Network Affiliates as part of its Affiliate Research Project (ARP). The sites are Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, Multicare Health System, and Wenatchee Valley Medical Center.  Read more.

In the Ellensburg Daily Record last week, an inspiring story was published about Paul Goebel, an avid runner, biker, swimmer, and kayaker who thought he had winter asthma but turned out to have stage IV lung cancer. Treated with Crizotinab at SCCA, Paul is doing just great now! Read his story here.

The Seattle Department of Transportation says the next four confirmed weekend closures of the I-5 on- and off-ramps at Mercer St. as part of the Mercer Corridor Project will occur the following weekends in July and August beginning on Fridays at 11 p.m. and ending on Mondays at 5 a.m: July 6 - 9, July 13 – 16, August 10 – 13, and August 24 -27. Recently, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommended against PSA-based screening for prostate cancer. SCCA's Daniel Lin, MD, disagrees with the Task Force's recommendation, and says that PSA screening, while not perfect, has its place. Dr. Lin was recently interviewed about PSA screening on Patient Power. Watch the interview here.
