Ever-Increasing Treatment Options

Cancer care is continually evolving as new treatments are researched and developed. As a result, treatment plans require multiple disciplines to provide precise diagnoses and appropriate therapies for cancer patients. Specialists focus their expertise on specific types of cancers and the multidisciplinary approach provides coordinated care for patients. Your physician will work with you and other members of the care team to develop a plan tailored to your needs.

Depending on your diagnosis, treatment options may include systemic therapy such as chemotherapy, immune therapy, targeted small molecules, or hormonal therapy. It may also include localized treatment such as surgical resection and/or radiation therapy. Promising investigational approaches may be recommended if appropriate. To ensure you receive the best course of treatment, oncology specialists conduct weekly conferences to review patients’ status, gaining insight, ideas, and recommendations from a diverse team of professionals. If appropriate, your physician will work with experts in acupuncture, naturopathy and other complementary therapies to augment your care.
