Jaideep Shenoi, MD
Dr. Jaideep Shenoi has gotten recognition not only for his research, but also his clinical acumen and caring bedside manner. “When patients begin their treatment plan—they really begin a marathon,” Shenoi says. “I think of myself as their trainer, tailoring and easing their medical course so they end as victors without undue side-effects.”
Dr. Shenoi is a medical oncologist who treats a broad range of cancers. He focuses on hematology diseases (both benign and malignant) as well as genitourinary cancer.
He also sees his role as a teacher, making sure patients “understand their diagnoses and treatment—so they can make the best, most informed decisions.”
Dr. Shenoi’s medical career began in internal medicine in India, while getting involved with Patients with Hemophilia. Through his work there, he received the prestigious “International Hemophilia Training Centre Fellowship Award” by the World Federation of Hemophilia in 2000.
Inspired by this award, he pursued his training in hematology and oncology first in Milan, Italy, then in the United States. He was a Fellow in Hematology-Oncology at the University of Washington, and worked at Fred Hutchison and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
Coming to Group Health was a clear choice for Dr. Shenoi. “I feel the strong, integrated networking between primary care physicians and the specialists here can help boost care to the highest level. We have a much stronger and broader team that puts the patient first.”
Shenoi likes swimming and tennis, playing online chess, and fine arts like sketching. He plays the descant recorder and piano to relax.
Patient Care Philosophy
“It is my belief that true health is a harmony of mind, body and soul—having all three in equilibrium. It is my goal therefore to help my patients embark on this voyage of health with me mentoring their progress as their coach.”
