Breast Cancer Risk Drops after Hormones Stopped
A study just published in the New England Journal of Medicine suggests that the recent drop in U.S. breast cancer cases in post-menopasual women is because many women have stopped taking hormone replacement therapy. The hypothesis that there is a cause-and-effect relationship between stopping HRT and decreased breast-cancer risk has been controversial until now. One of the Hutchinson Center investigators, Ross Prentice, was interviewed by Andrew Shorr about the study and what it means for post-menopausal women. Listen to the Interview
