Genetic Counselors

Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) Genetic Counseling Service providers are all licensed, board-certified genetic counselors.

Mercy Laurino, MS, CGC

Mercy Laurino is a certified genetic counselor and a co-coordinator of SCCA’s Breast and Ovarian Cancer Prevention Program and Gastrointestinal Cancer Prevention Program clinics. She is certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and licensed by the Washington State Department of Health

Britta Sjoding, MS, CGC

Britta Sjoding is a certified genetic counselor and a co-coordinator of SCCA’s Breast and Ovarian Cancer Prevention Program and Gastrointestinal Cancer Prevention Program clinics. Counseling patients regarding hereditary cancer syndromes since 2009, she is certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and licensed by the Washington State Department of Health.

Robin Bennett, MS, CGC

Robin Bennett is the senior genetic counselor and co-director for the University of Washington (UW) Medical Genetics Clinic. She is also a clinical associate professor in the Division of Medical Genetics in the UW Department of Medicine. She is certified in genetic counseling by the American Board of Medical Genetics and the American Board of Genetic Counseling and licensed by the Washington State Department of Health.

Emily Malouf, MS, CGC

Emily Malouf provides genetic counseling for a variety of inherited conditions, including inherited cancer syndromes, neurogenetic conditions, and cardiovascular conditions. She worked for several years in the Human Genetics Department at the University of Utah studying inherited neuromuscular conditions, and the California Department of Public Health’s Prenatal Screening Program coordinating results and follow-up services for women who had prenatal screening. She is certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and licensed by the Washington State Department of Health.

Lorraine Naylor, MS, CGC

Lorraine Naylor provides counseling to patients referred for a variety of inherited conditions. She has a special interest in cancer genetics, with a focus on gastrointestinal malignancies. She is certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and licensed by the Washington State Department of Health.
