Dr. Padia started the Y90 radioembolization program at UW Medical Center for primary liver cancer, which is now the largest in the Pacific Northwest. He is also an experienced user of irreversible electroporation (IRE), a novel non-thermal technology for tumor ablation.

Dr. Padia's Story

Dr. Padia became a doctor in order to work in a field that offered a dynamic, changing environment. Being a doctor allows him “to be on the cusp of medical innovation, which can potentially have immediate and significant impact on people’s lives.”

Working with cancer patients, he has an opportunity “to provide minimally invasive treatments without decreasing a person’s quality of life, with significant potential benefit.”

Involved in numerous research projects involving novel treatments for liver cancer, Dr. Padia is focused specifically on Yttrium 90 radioembolization and irreversible electroporation (IRE) research. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling and reading.
