Dr. Failor's Story

Richard Failor, MD went into the medical field because he says, "Being a physician allows me to combine the privilege of working with people in an intimate manner, while pursuing my fascination with the biological sciences."

Many of the physicians at SCCA are involved in research. Dr. Failor is peripherally involved in a number of clinical studies, and is the local principle investigator for the ACCORD study (a long-term diabetes outcome study).

"Over the course of my career, I have witnessed some remarkable advancements and improvements in our care of  patients," he says. "I expect the pace of development of new diagnostic and therapeutic tools to continue to accelerate. It is going to get better, and better."

Outside of work, Dr. Failor is a “weekend farmer” and enjoys being outdoors. He is also a self-professed compulsive exerciser.
