Eve Rodler, MD

Dr. Eve Rodler is a graduate of George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences. It was during her internship and residency at Harbor UCLA that she learned to appreciate the emotional and intellectual challenges of working with oncology patients because this offered a chance to treat the “whole patient.”  She then went on to UC Davis for fellowship training in hematology/oncology.

“I left a career in investment banking because I wanted to have more of a direct and personal impact on the daily lives of people. I was drawn to medicine for this reason. Then I found that I enjoyed the close relationships I formed with patients who have been diagnosed with cancer,” she says. “I try to treat each patient with compassion and respect and to use my medical knowledge to recommend the best treatments available for them.”

Dr. Rodler currently sees patients with sarcoma or breast cancer at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. But she hasn’t always been a physician. After college, she earned a Masters Degree in Asian studies and learned Mandarin Chinese. She worked in Hong Kong as a banker for five years before deciding to make a career switch.

“I was 32 years old when I decided to go to medical school,” Dr. Rodler says. “I had to take pre-med classes at Columbia University first though, since I hadn’t had much science during my undergraduate years.”

When she has some free time, Dr. Rodler dances Argentine Tango with her husband, something their young daughter enjoys watching as well.
