Dr. Geballe's Story

Dr. Adam Geballe became interested in human biology during high school. "And my interest only grew during college," he says.

He decided to care for cancer patients after he moved to Seattle and joined Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. "I was happy to focus my clinical activities on cancer care patients."

His research involves molecular virology research, particularly on cytomegalovirus.

"I hope and expect that cancer treatment will vastly improve in my lifetime, with increasing knowledge of vulnerabilities of cancer cells and the ability to design specific chemical and biological agents the exploit these weaknesses," he says.

Outside of work, Dr. Geballe enjoys playing tennis, gardening, reading and traveling.
