What to Expect
When a child receives a diagnosis of sickle cell disease, they will begin treatment right away, usually with the physician who made the diagnosis. In Seattle, most children receive their treatment for this disease at Odessa Brown Children's Clinic, a community clinic of Seattle Children’s, a Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, located at 4800 Sandpoint Way NE in Seattle. If your doctor has determined that your child's next course of treatment is a bone marrow transplant for their sickle cell disease, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is the best place to be.
You or your doctor may call our Intake Line at 1-800-804-8824 or (206) 288-SCCA (7222). You will be connected to the Clinic Coordinator for bone-marrow transplantation. Your first appointment will be scheduled at that time.

During this time period, your child may become an SCCA inpatient at Seattle Children's and/or may also receive care as an outpatient at the SCCA clinic. Either way your personal SCCA transplant team will provide the very best care for your child.
