Endometrial Cancer

Patient Support

You may find that cancer treatment causes intense psychological consequences and disruptions in your relationships with family and friends. Common feelings include depression, anxiety, mood swings, and fears of a recurrence or death. These emotions do not automatically go away once treatment is over.

Gynecologic cancers hit many women hard. You may feel less feminine and less sexually attractive after cancer treatment. You may blame yourself for your disease, or feel guilty, and sexual problems with your partner can result from these feelings.

The staff at SCCA can help you deal with the emotions that surround your cancer, even after you are in remission or cured. We can help with the issues that may be getting in the way of your sexuality.

Even when cancer treatment is over, it may take time for life to get back to normal. You may feel the need for support from a mental health professional or a support group.

We refer many women to Gilda’s Club, which has support groups, including one just for women with gynecologic cancers, and other offerings in a very comfortable environment. Other women, especially those who live in small towns or rural areas, find online support groups to be helpful.
