Treatment Options

Children with Dyskeratosis Congenita (DKC) may be treated with medications to stimulate the production of white and red blood cells, but the only cure for the blood complications of the disease is allogeneic bone marrow transplant.

Supportive care includes pulmonary function testing and regular evaluations by an endocrinologist because these patients are at risk for osteoporosis.
