Overview

If you have cervical cancer, you want to be treated by a gynecologic oncologist as soon as you are diagnosed. Gynecologic oncologists are doctors who have years of specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers of the female reproductive system. Studies show that patients with cervical cancer have better outcomes when treated by gynecologic oncolgists.
Seattle Cancer Care Alliance has more gynecologic oncologists specializing in cervical cancer than any other medical center or clinic in the Pacific Northwest. SCCA was formed, in part, to bring promising new treatments to patients faster. For women with cervical cancer, this means more treatment options at SCCA than might be found elsewhere, including participation in one of the many ongoing clinical research studies conducted at SCCA and its parent organizations, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and UW Medicine.
