Women’s Center
Dedicated Care for Women
When Seattle Cancer Care Alliance decided to open the Women's Center, we went straight to the experts—women like you, SCCA patients and former patients—for advice.
They told us what the ideal women’s center would be like, including privacy, comfort, colors, traffic patterns, and floor plans, windows in the exam rooms, the type of furniture in the waiting areas, and how it should be arranged.
Input from this Patient Advisory Group helped create the Women's Center, a place that welcomes and supports you through all phases of cancer treatment, from diagnosis to follow-up.
At SCCA, you will see doctors who are leaders in breast and gynecologic cancer care. Working as a team, your health-care providers will talk to each other, and you, to help you choose the best treatment, one that takes into account the type of cancer you have, and your values, beliefs, and lifestyle.
The Women's Center is on the third floor of the SCCA building. It’s a 12,000-square-foot, light-filled clinic with a view of Lake Union and spacious, well-planned examination rooms so that you won’t feel crowded if you decide to bring friends or family members with you.
There are three mammography rooms, three ultrasound rooms, and one room for stereotactic biopsy, all furnished with the latest imaging equipment. Each mammography room has its own private changing room, and you will get the results of your mammogram immediately and in private.
In addition, the Women’s Center has a “green rating,” meaning most of the materials used in the construction were either recycled or environmentally friendly, and it was designed to conserve both power and water. The art that decorates the Women’s Center includes a drawing by Dale Chihuly, the famous Northwest glass artist.
