Clinical Labs

Seattle Cancer Care Alliance houses several laboratories which support clinical treatment not only at SCCA and its parent organizations, but also at local, regional and national health care facilities.

Busulfan Lab (Pharmacokinetics Lab)

The Pharmacokinetics Lab, often referred to as the Busulfan Lab, specializes in Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) of busulfan.

Alliance Laboratory

The Alliance Lab provides phlebotomy, sample processing, clinical laboratory diagnostics, and sample referral services to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.

Cellular Therapy Laboratory

The Cellular Therapy Laboratory has responsibility for processing, testing, storing, transporting, and assisting with the infusion of cellular therapy products used for autologous, related and unrelated allogeneic transplantation at SCCA.

Clinical Immunogenetics Laboratory

The Clinical Immunogenetics Laboratory provides clinical services including HLA typing of patients, family members, and potential related and unrelated or cord blood donors. The Clinical Immunogenetics Laboratory also provides chimerism testing for hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients.

Clinical Pathology

The Pathology Department provides comprehensive diagnostic pathology services and carries out research involving the hematopoietic stem cell transplant population of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.

Cytogenetics Laboratory

The Cytogenetics Laboratory performs conventional and molecular cytogenetic analysis of primarily bone marrow and peripheral blood specimens from patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplants (HSCT), and any other patients carrying the HSCT identifying flag

Molecular Oncology Laboratory

The Molecular Oncology lab focuses on the detection of leukemia related mutations by nucleic acid amplification. These assays are used for diagnosis, monitoring during treatment, and minimal residual disease tracking.
