Volunteer Advisory Council and Support Groups

The Volunteer Advisory Council serves to identify and evaluate the needs of the volunteers in the Volunteer Services Program with the goal of maintaining a dynamic program of service for patients and families.  While eighteen volunteers are elected to the council, all volunteers are welcome and encouraged to attend the quarterly meetings.  Volunteers who have participated in the advisory council have gained personal satisfaction and growth from providing support to other volunteers as well as come away with an increased perspective on the scope of programs and services offered by the Volunteer Services Program.

Volunteer Groups provide a setting for volunteers to discuss their questions and concerns that pertain to providing practical and emotional support to patients and families. These groups meet monthly in a volunteer’s home in three areas of Seattle: the Southend, Eastside and Seattle. The groups enable volunteers to offer friendship and support to one another.
