Support Group for Spouses & Significant others of Men with Prostate, Testicular, or Bladder Cancer
The Prostate Clinical Research Program invites you to this monthly support group. Come and share your experience. The meeting will be videoconferenced to the Olympic Peninsula to include spouses from the area. Group Leader: Sylie Aubin, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist. This group meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 1-2 pm; 3rd floor of the SCCA, Room G3-100. Call 288-1000 for directions. |

Gilda's Club, Seattle - Camp Sparkle
Gilda's Club Seattle is excited to announce our fifth annual Camp Sparkle! These are free camps for children, ages 5-12 and teens ages 13-18. The goal of Camp Sparkle! is to provide social and emotional support for children and teens touched by cancer. Children touched by cancer are an under served population and Camp Sparkle! provides an enriching experience.
This year Gilda's Club will offer Camp Sparkle! the following weeks:
Day camp for ages 5 and up (at the clubhouse): Monday, June 23 through Friday, June 27 from 9:30 a.m.. to 4:00 p.m.
The first annual overnight camp for ages 8 and up at Camp Berachah (located in Auburn): Monday, August 4 through Friday, August 8, 2008. Both weeks of camp will feature daily arts and crafts projects, games, singing, guest workshops, and field trips. Transportation will be by school bus. Free lunches and snacks will be provided for all our campers.

Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness
On Saturday, June 14th, 2008 the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center Survivorship Program will host its second annual Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness educational event. The event will feature keynote speaker Linda Armstrong Kelly, mother of Lance Armstrong the seven-time winner of the Tour de France and cancer survivor. The event will also offer breakout sessions led experts in the fields of nutrition, complementary/alternative medicine, physical therapy, fatigue, pain, relationships/sexuality, insurance rights, survivorship research, cancer genetics, emotional adaptation and cognitive function/memory.
The event will be held on the Hutchinson Center campus in the Thomas building, 8am - 2pm. The event is free and open to public; however, space is limited and registration is required. RSVP to attend: www.fhcrc.org/survivorship, 206.667.1960 or survivor@fhcrc.org. |
